FASHION:
Over 100 garments, accessories, and textiles, ranging from mid-eighteenth-century gowns through works by contemporary designers, explore the positive and negative aspects of fashion’s relationship with the environment. Highlights include Norwegian label FIN’s marble-print organic bamboo satin dress; Charmoné’s faux-leather pump; and a potentially hazardous acid-green silk dress from 1860, the color of which was likely achieved through an arsenic-based dye.
