At Gladstone Gallery, Carroll Dunham’s outdone himself with the latest in his optically electric visions of prelapsarian bliss, postlapsarian sex, and some of the most vividly painted female genitalia in the history of art. It’s like cave painting starring Matisse’s bathers on ’shrooms, wearing Aztec headdresses as seen by professional pornographers—one of the best painting shows of the decade.
