The photographer J Henry Fair seeks out beauty in the worst places on Earth. His aerial photographs of strip-mined mountains and similarly devastated slices of the environment (like Cover-up, from 2005) turn poisoned places into real-life Rothkos. Implausibly, they’re being shown not at a gallery but at a Chelsea law firm, Gray Krauss LLP, that’s inaugurating an exhibition series of its own (NYMAG)
